
Who We Are
The mission of the Northern Kentucky healthcare preparedness MRC unit is to utilize volunteers which include medical and public health professionals as well as community members without healthcare backgrounds who want to improve the health and safety of their communities within the NKY area. These counties include Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Grant, Carroll, Gallatin, Pendleton, Owen and Bracken.
What We Do
The Northern Kentucky MRC volunteers are used to support a variety of emergency responses, public health preparedness initiatives and other relevant community needs. Examples of activities that MRC volunteers participate in and support include the following:
- Community education/outreach
- Community vaccination clinics
- Disease testing and surveillance
- Disaster clean-up/recovery support
- Emergency shelter operations
- First aid and medical support during large public gatherings
- Mass dispensing efforts
- Medical facility surge support
- Search and rescue operations
