
Who We Are
The Region 3 Healthcare Emergency Response & Advisory Coalition (HERA) Region 3 Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Unit is a group of medical and non-medical volunteers who can assist not only the State of Kentucky but also other MRC Units during emergency and some non-emergency needs by organizing and training volunteers for a time of need. The HERA Region 3 MRC Unit will be represented by volunteers from the counties of Jefferson, Oldham, Bullitt, Trimble, Henry, Shelby, Spencer, Meade, Breckinridge, Hardin, Grayson, Larue, Marion, Washington, and Nelson. These counties represent a total population of 1,304,877 or 28.9% of the total Kentucky population.
What We Do
The HERA Region 3 Medical Reserve Corps Unit is part of a nationwide group of volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds and skillsets who are dedicated to strengthening their communities by training and volunteering during disasters and non-emergency events.

- First Aid Response & Training including Stop The Bleed
- Community Outreach for Preparedness Training & Education
- Disease Testing
- Emergency Medical Needs Sheltering Operation Support in collaboration with Congregate/General Population Sheltering Partners
- Mass Dispensing for Medical Countermeasures (MCM) Operational Support
- Medical Facility Surge Support in collaboration with HERA
